Among job ads, one can find a good number of those looking for a specific type of male or female employee. Gender and age limit are pre-defined. This automatically excludes a large part of male and female workers from competing for a job and overtly discriminates against them.
There are 68.000 unemployed persons registered with the Employment Service of Republic of Srpska. The number of unemployed men and women is almost the same. As for the age structure, the biggest number of unemployed persons is between the ages of 45 and 60. Around 25.000 of them.
People between the ages of 40 and 60 encounter this specific problem when looking for employment, according to the reports of the Institution of Ombudsman for Human Rights. This problem equally affects men and women. There is a positive example of work and fight against such discrimination, and it is the company “Super zena” (“Super woman”) from Zvornik.
